Messages and automation

Connecting your channels

Connecting Instagram, Messenger, email and the rest.

Channels live under Settings → Messaging channels. In every case the credentials are yours — messages come from your account and your sender identity, and BaseBlock never supplies keys or shares them between businesses.

  • Website live chat needs nothing connected. It is on your storefront already, and a visitor does not need an account to use it.
  • Messenger and Instagram need a Facebook Page connected — a Page ID and an access token — plus a one-time approval from Meta for the app itself. Replies inside the 24-hour window are ordinary messages; once it closes, the Inbox says plainly that a reply will not reach the customer rather than letting you type into the void.
  • Email works with Resend. Add an API key and a from-address, and point an inbound address at the webhook shown on the card. Incoming mail threads onto the right conversation, and your replies go out through your own Resend account.
  • SMS works with Twilio or SpellCPaaS, and is what the review-request and dispatch-notice flows use if you would rather not email.

Secrets are write-only. Once saved, a key is never sent back to your browser — the field shows a "saved" hint instead, and leaving it blank keeps the stored value.
