Connect an AI assistant

Your workspace can be added to Claude, ChatGPT, an editor like Cursor or VS Code, or anything else that speaks the Model Context Protocol. Once it is connected you can say what you want in words — “add these four kurtas at 1,200 each”, “how did today go”, “put a post on my site about the Dashain sale” — and it happens in your own tables.

Setting it up. Settings › MCP. Choose which assistant it is for, give the connection a name, and press the button. You get a link. Paste it into your assistant as a custom connector or MCP server — in Claude that is Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector; in an editor it goes in the MCP settings file, and the screen shows the exact block to paste. The link is shown once, because only its fingerprint is stored: if you lose it, make another and revoke the old one.

What it can do. See your tables and the columns in them; search your rows; tell you how a day went and what has run low; add a product; add a row to any other table; correct a product’s stock; and write a post on your website.

What it cannot do. Delete anything. Change a bill. Read payroll — a table named for payroll or salary is out of reach for reading as well as writing. It also never sees your password, and it can make sixty requests a minute and no more.

Who did what. Every change through a connection is in your audit log under that connection’s name rather than a person’s, and a line appears in your workspace feed as it happens — “Shop ChatGPT added Felt Elephant to Products”. Only an owner or admin can make or revoke a connection, and revoking stops it the moment you press it.
